Counselling and Supervision
Counselling
Why come to counselling?
People come to counselling for many and varied reasons. Sometimes it can be that something is happening presently for you, or could be older deeper behaviors, feeling and/or patterns that are no longer helpful; you may be experiencing feelings of anxiety, loss/bereavement or wanting more clarity in a life situation or relationship. There are times in our lives when things bubble up or are just not feeling right. Maybe a decision has to be made about a life's situation. Having the time an space to explore feelings, thoughts and concerns can help bring clarity and a greater sense of peace. One of the great things about counselling is that it is a space that different to speaking with friends or family members; it is confidential, objective, non-judgmental and safe. A time for you.
The first few steps can be the most challenging and tentative. My aim is to make these first steps as gentle as possible. I am warm, reassuring and I am aware, though my own personal development and therapy, what it is like to be in the clients shoes.
I believe that finding the right counsellor for you is a key element to a positive therapeutic experience and as such I offer a 30 minute introductory session so that we can meet, for you to let me know what you would like to bring to counselling and for us to begin to form the therapeutic relationship together. From the initial session you will be able to decide whether you would like to go forward in working with me or not, there is no obligation and the choice is yours.
Fees:
Counselling
Opening/initial meeting - £25 for a face to face/online appointment or a complimentary 15 min telephone consultation.
Subsequent sessions for individuals £55
Telephone or online counselling - £55

Couples Counselling
Sessions are an hour in length or 1 hour and 30 mins.
Initial couples counselling sessions an hour.
Session fee: £60 per hour.
Supervision
Supervision is fundamental when working within the therapeutic field. Not only as a requirement by regulatory bodies, such as BACP or UKCP, but also as a means to support you as therapeutic practitioner.
I believe that supervision offers a place for reflection for you and your work, where you can feel heard and supported. My aim is to hold and cultivate, with you, a space where we can co-create and develop the working alliance together; where you feel comfortable, supported and safe so you feel able to bring all of your clinical work to supervision; the work that you are proud of and the work where you feel there has been a level of challenge and growing - the growing edge.
I aim to actively listen and engage in your therapeutic development and growth as well as holding a strong sense of stability and containment.
I am a registered member of BACP and adhere to their ethical framework. (https://www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework/)
Fees
I am able to offer supervision fortnightly or monthly and for the duration of 1hour, 1hr and 30mins or top up sessions. £60 per hour.
I have experience of supervising student counsellors, counsellors in private practice and working within charitable organisations and the NHS.
